Celebrating Laura Curtis and Dr. Terri Janke as finalists!

TJC

Updated: Dec 5, 2022

We are proud to celebrate our solicitor Laura Curtis as a finalist for the Rising Star of the Year award and our Solicitor Director Dr. Terri Janke as Thought Leader of the Year, as part of the Woman in Law Awards 2022.

Laura is a highly regarded member of our firm, whose contribution to our team is invaluable. She is your go-to for museums, galleries, government agencies and non-government organisations, as an expert in legal and policy drafting, governance issues and legal perspective on the management of arts and culture.

Laura is also a leading contributor to research and writing of various reports and publications. In recent years, Laura was Project Manager on a project with ASEAN that reported on legal and policy options for the protection and promotion of Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge, and Traditional Cultural Expressions. She also worked on drafting and research for a report into the State of Victoria’s Aboriginal Cultural Heritage and drafted a guide for Indigenous language centres in Australia, to assist them in managing the legal and governance challenges of working on Indigenous language projects.

Laura's skills expand wide, from working on commission and licence agreements, recording release agreements, to public speaking and presenting. Laura is very experienced in presenting our True Tracks® workshops, and you can learn from Laura at our upcoming workshop in November.

We have seen Laura grow and excel in her work during her time at TJC, and we celebrate her achievement as finalist for Rising Star award 2022. Congratulations Laura and good luck!

A big congratulations to our Solicitor Director Dr. Terri Janke too! Terri was shortlisted as a finalist for the Thought Leader of the Year category.
