Expertise

Grace is a paralegal with TJC. She places a strong focus on community, people, culture, and Country. Grace has studied subjects on, and engaged with the community on human rights, environmental, and social justice issues. Grace aims to continue to learn and grow both in her career and as a person.


Experience

Grace Slatyer graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from Macquarie University in 2024. Grace brings a diverse range of experience across multiple industries, including hospitality, customer service, and administration. She has gained valuable experience as an intern at Macquarie Law School, contributing to the Voice referendum campaign. Throughout her law degree, she also worked as a cadet at Colin Biggers & Paisley Lawyers.

Recent Projects

  • ARC Centre for Excellence for the Elimination of Violence Against Women - Administrative Assistant. 

  • Academic paper with lawyer and academic Phillip Rodgers-Falk, soon to be published.

Community

Grace’s community is a long story, her family is a part of the stolen generation, so she is still connecting back to Country, and learning about her family connections. Her connections are to the Murri people in Queensland, with ties to the Juru Mob. She hopes to one day return to country. Grace is also committed supporting the next generation of strong First Nations lawyers, tutoring Indigenous law students to help them succeed.
