Expertise
Luca Sawyer is a Paralegal at TJC. After completing the Diploma of Humanities Pathway Program in 2018, she began studying an undergraduate degree of Arts/Law at UNSW, with a major in creative writing and a minor in Indigenous Studies. Luca has interests in criminal law, human rights, and justice, specifically focusing on First Nation Peoples.
Experience
Luca was a Winter School supervisor with Nura Gili (UNSW) in 2018/2019, encouraging young Blak youth to become the best version of themselves. In 2021-2022, she interned at ESCAPE magazine (Newscorp) with Careertrackers. Luca also has legal/admin experience from her time as a junior clerk at Martin Place Chambers under the brilliant Michele Kearns and has also worked as a cadet at the Office of the Children’s Guardian, where she was particularly proud of the policy her and her team wrote on Cultural Safety.

Community
Luca is a proud Wiradjuri woman that grew up on Biripi Country. On her days off she can be found at the beach, reading romance/fantasy novels, or with her family (especially her three cheeky little siblings). Luca regularly volunteers with organisations such as AIME, Sea the Weed project, and Human Kind.
